Employment Law
Employment law defines the rights and obligations among employers and employees. This includes pay obligations, working conditions, workplace safety, and protections against discrimination, harassment and wrongful termination. A variety of state and federal laws define these obligations and give employees rights against their employers who fail to comply. Many employment disputes are resolved by agencies such as the DFEH and EEOC, while others are litigated in the state and federal courts.
